Drifting has been simplified, and players only receive a turbo boost based on how successfully they do the drift.
Each character class has six variations to choose from, four new characters, and the ability to drive with your Mii-finally, 16 unique tunes and 16 returns from previous games.
In addition to karts, players can now race on motorcycles, which can perform wheelies but are lighter and cannot supercharge. There have been several additions to the series.
